Yesterday's Florida rout is equally impressive and dispiriting until you look at it one way. Yes, Romney beat Gingrich 46-32 but He only beat Gingrich/Santorum 46-45 and he actually lost to Gingrich/Santorum/Cain/Bachman. That's right, Romney still lost to the Conservative vote. Romney still lost the Conservative panhandle part of the state to Gingrich.
Here is a frightening stat. GOP turnout was BELOW 2008 levels. 2012 Florida Republicans could not even muster a John McCain level of enthusiasm, that's scary. Dispirited Republicans stay home on election day and when they stay home, the GOP loses. See 2006 and 2008.
There can only be one conclusion. GOP voters look at our front runner and moan "We can't do better than Mitt?". With Santorum out, even the looney bird Paul voters cannot keep Gingrich from beating Romney because turnout will rise, not fall.
There is one way to right this ship, only one way.
Rick, we love you, but you are pissing us off. Drop out now and throw your support behind Newt. Do it for America, do it now, it's our only hope. If you do, I promise we will do our part. If you don't, we will forever hold you accountable for giving us Romney.
